Arsenal open to Granit Xhaka offers to boost transfer funds in Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo pursuit

Bayer Leverkusen are pushing to sign Granit Xhaka with Arsenal open to offers for the midfielder, talkSPORT understands.

Any funds generated from Xhaka’s sale would help boost Mikel Arteta’s transfer purse as they eye Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo.

The Gunners could offload several stars, including Folarin Balogun and Emile Smith Rowe with Xhaka increasingly likely to leave Arsenal.

Xhaka‘s contract expires at the end of next season and are Arsenal are reluctant to let him run it down, wanting £15m for their star.

The Swiss International is enjoying a stellar season and has been a driving force in the Gunners’ surprise Premier League title bid.

Xhaka’s family are settled in London and are not a key factor behind any potential exit and return to Europe.

Bayer Leverkusen are understood to be keen on bringing him to the Bundesliga, with Xabi Alonso a huge fan of the 30-year-old.

Arsenal are eyeing a move for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, having tried to secure his services in January.

The Gunners had a bid in excess of £70million turned down by the Seagulls, which was not enough to secure the Ecuador international.

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has previously hinted the 21-year-old could leave the Amex Stadium in the summer, suggesting a move to north London is on the cards.

Another midfield target is West Ham captain Rice, with the Gunners set to open talks and match his £300,000-a-week wage demands.

Arsenal are said to be willing to splash £90m on the star, in hope he moves to the Emirates, according to The Daily Mail.

West Ham have set Rice’s asking price at £100m, despite the England international’s contract expiring next year.

A move for the 23-year-old would break the Gunners’ current transfer record, which is currently at £72m following the signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille in 2019.

Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby, who is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain, and Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi are also targets.
