Casemiro gave referee ‘nice and easy job’ as Manchester United star racks up tenth yellow card this season

Casemiro racked up his tenth yellow card of the season on what was a truly shoddy night for Manchester United.

Manchester United lost 3-0 at Sevilla, as they conceded early on in both halves with some calamitous defending being at fault for the first of the LaLiga side’s goals.

After the second goal sucker punch, Casemiro tripped up Nemanja Gudelj after sticking out a leg to stop him breaking up on the counter.

The Brazilian was visibly annoyed as he put his hands on his face as the referee pulled his yellow card out to book him for the challenge.

That reaction was likely caused by the midfielder knowing he would miss the semi-final of the Europa League, although that soon proved to be academic with Youssef En-Nesyri putting the Spanish side 3-0 up and go through 5-2 on aggregate.

talkSPORT’S commentator Joe Proudfoot said live from Sevilla: “He’s given the referee a nice and easy job there to give him a yellow card.”

The Brazilian has had ten yellow cards this season as well as two straight reds in two Premier League appearances which earnt him a suspension of three games and then four.

En-Nesyri put Sevilla ahead on the night as they capitalised on some terrible defending by David de Gea and Harry Maguire, while former Nottingham Forest loanee made it 2-0 early in the second half.
