Chelsea fans boo players off at half-time and stage mass exodus as Frank Lampard suffers ANOTHER defeat

Chelsea fans booed off the players off at half-time and staged a mass exodus after a 2-0 defeat to Brentford.

Frank Lampard named a bizarre line-up before the match without a striker and playing N’Golo Kante and Conor Gallagher behind Raheem Sterling.

But the seemingly defensive set-up worked to no avail as Chelsea’s disastrous form continued at both ends of the pitch.

A corner was flicked on by Mathias Jorgensen, which hit Cesar Azpilicueta on the shoulder before edging past Kepa Arrizabalaga in the first-half.

It was Brentford’s only corner of the half while they did not even manage a shot on target, still managing to go ahead.

With half-time on the horizon, Chelsea had no reply and looked lacklustre yet again as their tragic season continues to go from bad to worse.

The west London side had 68 per cent possession in the first-half and managed seven shots but it has looked anything but a cohesive outfit.

And to no surprise, the home fans at Stamford Bridge have had enough as they booed off the players at half-time.

A second-half goal from Bryan Mbeumo ensured a fifth loss in a row for Lampard since taking interim charge – with Stamford Bridge emptying out long before full-time.

Chelsea have not won a match since March 11 when they beat Leicester 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

That was when Potter was in charge, since then the Blues have scored just three goals in eight matches – two of them coming in one of the games.

The run has included a dismal showing against Real Madrid, who trounced them 4-0 on aggregate in the Champions League.

And under Lampard, Chelsea have scored just once – a deflected effort from Gallagher in a 2-1 loss to Brighton.

The Blues last lost five in a row in all competitions in November 1993 and last scored one goal or fewer over a seven-game run in December 1993.

It does not get much easier for the Stamford Bridge legend, whose side faces Arsenal next in the Premier League.
