Liverpool hero John Barnes says fans shouldn’t be concerned if they miss out on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Reports this week stated Liverpool are refusing to compete in an auction for the England international.
But Barnes told BonusCodeBets: “Liverpool fans shouldn’t get too upset if Liverpool miss out on Jude. If they’re going to then they shouldn’t support the club. They should support Liverpool no matter what. And want players that only want to come to Liverpool.
“If Jude Bellingham decides to go somewhere else that’s not a player Liverpool fans should be wanting for the club. The fans shouldn’t put Jude Bellingham ahead of the club. End of story. Fans haven’t got a choice who joins the club and the way football is now there are clubs that have more money to offer than Liverpool do, Liverpool can’t do much about that.
“The owners have shown in the last five or six years that they’re invested in the club and want Liverpool to do well. We have been successful in that time. Fans shouldn’t turn against the owners or what the club is trying to do.”
