Chelsea failed to win their eighth straight match after they suffered a defeat to their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur today. This has been Chelsea’s worst run since 2001 and they might fail to play in any European competitions next season.

They have been struggling to get out of the tenth position for weeks and they might finish in the mid-table by the end of the season. Graham Potter has failed to bring back the winning run at the Bridge and he might end up being sacked.

He was appointed at the start of the season replacing German tactician Thomas Tuchel who contributed to the team’s great success after being in charge for almost two years. Today Chelsea looked decent but they couldn’t find the back of the net despite Potter starting a strong team.

He played some of his best players like Raheem Sterling, Enzo Fernandez, Hakim Ziyech, Joao Felix, Reece James, and Bem Chilwell. However, all these players couldn’t inspire the team to win despite being highly talented stars.

Harry Kane and Skipp scored the two winning goals for Tottenham Hotspur moving four points clear in the fourth place. Spurs looked decent in the second half and they deserved the two goals they scored against the Blues.

However, Graham Potter has been making the mistake of not playing a striker in the last several matches for Chelsea which has greatly cost the team. They have been getting a lot of chances nut have failing to utilise them due to lack of a natural striker.

The English boss should be starting has been benching Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is the only national striker at Stamford Bridge. This has greatly costed the team leading to them failing to win their last few games especially since the turn of the year.
