Harry Kane spearheads Manchester United triple transfer dream as Erik ten Hag plots revamp

Manchester United could have a very different-looking team next season if Erik ten Hag gets his way.

It has been a decent debut campaign from the Dutchman, who brought silverware back to Old Trafford, with the club not winning anything since 2017.

After winning the Carabao Cup against Newcastle, further trophies are in the offing with an FA Cup final against Manchester City to come.

And their status in the Champions League looks set, meaning they will enter the transfer window looking like a top destination for players again.

That will be important when they look to negotiate deals to bolster their squad with some big targets arising already.

However, funds remain a tricky situation and bringing in all three players Ten Hag wants will prove difficult.

But in a dream scenario, the Dutchman could bin off some fringe players for big money and land his top targets – which would turn United into a force to be reckoned with.

talkSPORT understands Ten Hag’s biggest wish this summer is to sign a marquee striker to finish the many chances that are put on a plate by his creative players.

Anthony Martial is not reliable enough, Wout Weghorst has not worked out and Cristiano Ronaldo was released earlier this season.

Goncalo Ramos, Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani have been linked but the man wanted to fill the void is Harry Kane.

At Tottenham, the England international has grown tired of the lack of progress made and, after becoming their top scoring player of all time, there is a feeling he has taken them as far as he can.

United are the frontrunners for his signature while clubs abroad are also interested, though whether Kane would want to leave the Premier League remains to be seen.

Spearheading the front line at Old Trafford would appeal to the striker, while United have been after him for some time but now might have the means to do so.

Signing Kane will not be cheap and Tottenham chief Daniel Levy will make sure the Red Devils will have to fork out a tremendous amount should he even begin negotiations.

Another superstar being linked is Declan Rice, who has long been on United’s wish list but West Ham have refused to do business.

As he enters the final year of his contract, the Hammers might be forced to the table but, like Spurs, they will not do so cheaply.

In fact, they have demanded at least £100million for his services but United believe they can capture the midfielder for £90m, according to the Daily Mail. Arsenal are also in the race for the 24-year-old.

And the final dream signing would be that of Chelsea’s Mason Mount, who looks set to leave the Blues amid a contract dispute.

Neither player or club can come to an agreement over an extension and with one year remaining on his deal, the Blues would rather sell than lose for nothing.

It has led to a scramble over his signature with Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal all interested in snapping up the Englishman.

But The Athletic report that Mount is leaning towards United as his preferred destination to reinvigorate their attack.

The Chelsea star can play a number of positions that would intrigue Ten Hag, including on the wing and in midfield.

And with Antony’s struggles, it is possible that he could play on the right-wing as Casemiro and Rice hold down an immensely powerful midfield.

Bruno Fernandes would sit in front of them, feeding balls to a greedy Kane, supported by Marcus Rashford on the flank.

It would be a devastating frontline, causing havoc across the Premier League – and in Europe.
