Manchester United secure Champions League return but Chelsea aren’t impressed as fans sing ‘we lose every week’

Manchester United confirmed their return to the Champions League, but Chelsea’s fans weren’t impressed.

The away end at Old Trafford hilariously sung: “You’re nothing special, we lose every week,” as they were thumped 4-1.

The truth is, United were rather special, particularly Marcus Rashford, whose 30th goal of the season saw a piece of skill that left Wesley Fofana humiliated.

It was the gloss on top of a three points that secured a top four finish, ending the challenge from rivals Liverpool, who will now stay fifth and in the Europa League.

Casemiro started the scoring with his seventh goal of the season, taking it his number of goal involvements to 13, a record for the Brazilian.

Anthony Martial made it two deep into first-half stoppage time, before Bruno Fernandes won and dispatched a penalty after a clumsy trip from Fofana.

That wasn’t the worst of it for the Frenchman with Rashford’s humiliation yet to come in a season where the Blues are guaranteed a rare bottom-half finish despite Joao Felix’s consolation.

On their third manager of the campaign after the sackings of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, United fans showed their humour, too.

With chants of ‘Super Franky Lampard’ coming from the away end, the rest of the Old Trafford joined in to mock a manager who has just one win in his last 20 games.
