Why did Mason Mount not start and why did you start with two fullbacks?

Since the space would be there and Marc and Reece are skilled attack builders, we decided to attack and use them as two laterals. I believed that we had several excellent offensive possibilities and recovered the ball high as well. We may have had a few one-on-one encounters with Mischa. The strike from today’s game comes from the outside of the box. It’s probably not a huge possibility if you look at the goal’s xG. Do you worry much about the defence?

I believe that is the area we need to focus on. Despite the fact that we ourselves had a few opportunities and conducted our own attacks effectively, we lost too many chances. The one that comes to mind is the one involving Watkins. Apart than that, not a lot. We need to perform better there, and that is on me, therefore I must accept responsibility. At the same time, that is a risk that is too great for us.

There is nothing I can add. The players I have are available. Even though we are all unhappy in the outcome, they gave it their all today. There isn’t much I can say that sounds encouraging given the team’s intention and the attack, but the score is unpleasant for us.

Does the players’ negativity come from the crowd?

They are Chelsea’s professional football players, they are aware of the situation and are aware of where we are. They are not naive. They are honest, they desire to improve, and they accept responsibility. There are no complaints about how the supporters react since we are there fighting for each other and battling together.
