Nigerian forward David Okereke will be sidelined for at least three weeks, due to muscle injury.
The energetic forward sustained a muscle injury in Venezia’s 4-3 away defeat to Empoli on Sunday.
He picked up the injury inside opening seven minutes and was later substituted immediately.
However, latest reports from Italian media revealed, the striker will miss at least three weeks, after undergoing a scan on Tuesday.
According to trivenetogoal.it, “David Okereke underwent a diagnostic on Tuesday after the injury he suffered against Verona.
“An injury to the flexor was found for the Venezia forward, which will lead to a stoppage of about three weeks.”
The 24-year-old has scored four goals in 13 league appearances for Venezia this season and his injury is a blow to Venezia who are fighting to remain in the Italian topflight.
