Semi Ajayi was in action for West Bromwich Albion as they played a goalless draw with Derby County at the Hawthorns on Tuesday.
Ajayi started on the right side of the back three along with Kyle Bartley and Conor Townsend.
The trio worked together perfectly and prevented the opposition attackers from having a sight at goal for the most part of the game.
West Brom dominated proceedings and really should have buried Wayne Rooney’s side after missing numerous chances and forcing several saves from goalkeeper Kelle Roos.
Semi Ajayi almost scored the important goal in the second half, but his shot was cleared off the line by former Albion center-back Curtis Davies after Karlan Grant found him with a pass.
The Nigerian international was presented another chance minutes later, but his header from Furlong’s cross went off target.
Albion later missed two excellent opportunities in the 78th minute. Diangana fired too close to Roos from a one-on-one then Furlong chipped over from the rebound.
