So Impressive: Watch Video & Gallery of Thomas Partey in Arsenal Shirt

Arsenal supporters got a first glimpse of deadline day signing Thomas Partey in the kit as he was officially unveiled on Tuesday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta finalised a £45million switch for the 27-year-old Ghana international on deadline day after Arsenal paid Atletico Madrid his release clause.

After the deal was announced Partey immediately left for international duty and only travelled to north London on Tuesday for his first Gunners photoshoot.

Thomas, who will wear the No 18 at the Emirates Stadium, will now have one eye on the weekend where he could make his Premier League debut.

Mikel Arteta’s side face the daunting task of travelling to play Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Should he be included, Thomas Partey could get his first outing in an Arsenal shirt at the Etihad Stadium.

Thomas Partey arrives highly-rated having left his mark playing for Diego Simeone in La Liga.

Partey, meanwhile, wants to help the Gunners get ‘back where they belong’ and win the Premier League title.

The Gunners have been champions of England 13 times, with their last title coming in 2003-04.

‘Everybody is wanting to win all the trophies that can be won. That’s my goal also,’ Partey said.

‘It’s something that’s difficult but we’re working towards it and we’re ready. We have to go all out and try and achieve all I have said.

‘That’s the objective of the club and myself. We have to get back to where we belong.’

Since their last Premier League success, Arsenal have won the FA Cup five times, including last season when they beat Chelsea 2-1 in the final in August.

However, they only finished eighth in the league and have not played in the Champions League since 2016-17.

‘It’s a great challenge,’ added Partey, who won the Europa League and Uefa Super Cup, and played in the 2016 Champions League final with Atletico Madrid.

‘I want to experience new challenges. I’m ready to give it my all and help this club.

‘They [manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu] told me about their plans and it was so exciting so I had to accept it. I feel great to be here.’
