So talented: Watch Mason Mount brilliant performer in Chelsea 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid


Although, Olivier Giroud scored overhead kick winner goal for Chelsea against Atletico Madrid but Mason Mount deserve a lot praised due to his standout performances against La Liga leaders last night.

The Englishman was a hard-working presence in midfield for the London club’s as they valiantly beat the Diego Simeone’s side at the Arena Naționala in Bucherest. 

Mount is one of the key sources of Chelsea’s creativity last night and he was central to all of the Blues’ brightest moments. Despite picking up an early yellow card, the Blues academy product produced a brilliant display in the middle of the park.

The 22-year-old done better in terms of creating more chances during the Blues’ 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid, completing 84% of his passes, took two shots which were not on target, played two key pass, took 43 touches, attempted two dribbles, and made one interception.

His performances impressed Blues icon Joe Cole, who prasied the England international afetr Chelsea’s win against Atletico Madrid.

He told BT Sport: ‘He’s still a young lad, you can’t rely on him all the time and managed for the big games but he’s so important for the club at the moment.

‘Even when there was nothing in the game he was the one looking to probe. The reason why footballers love him so much is because he does everything right, he’s in the right positions defensively and attacking. 

‘He’s also got that little big of magic, and he was a threat. He looks like a leader and he was brilliant tonight again.’
