So talented: Watch Mason Mount standout performer in Blues 1-0 win over Spur

Another impressive performances from the Cobham graduate on Thursday evening as he inspired Thomas Tuchel’s side to claimed all three points against Tottenham Hotspur.

Mount, 22, who has been regarded as Chelsea’s best performer so far this season, controlled the midfield alongside Kovacic and Jorginho, and slipped into the forward positions so that he could affect the game in the final third.

The Englishman was constantly involved in the first half, dropping into space to collect passes and looking to take on Tottenham defenders. His final ball let him down too often, however.

In the second period, the Cobham product continued to be Chelsea’s most influential attacking outlet. One surge forward almost resulted in a chance for Timo Werner while he was denied by a good low stop from Lloris.

His outstanding performances against Spurs last night was rewarded with man of the match award and head coach Thomas Tuchel has been thoroughly impressed with the 22-year-old attacking midfielder since taking over at Chelsea.

‘I cannot tell you where the limit is and I don’t want to put a limit on his development, the German coach said.

‘It is obvious he has a lot of potential, he is a great footballer and super nice guy, eager to learn, hungry to win, open-minded and for that I think that for him, he can perform for any manager.

‘He really means it, he has this internal motivation and a nice guy with a big personality. What more can you wish for? He’s top.

‘We watched the team and under Frank he was a regular starter and there was no doubt that he’s a team player and has the potential that he has.

‘We didn’t choose him for the first game because we opted for a slightly different profile on the two Number 10 positions for the first game.’
