“That gives us confidence”- Leicester City star Ndidi sends message to Manchester City ahead of EPL clash

Manchester City has won ten of the past ten Premier League meetings with Leicester City

Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi, has sent a message to Pep Guardiola’s men ahead of Leicester City’s clash against Manchester City.

The Nigerian who previously discussed Dean Smith’s influence on the team, believes the Cityzens’ overconfidence may help the Foxes win at the Etihad Stadium.

Following Brendan Rodgers’ sacking, the former Norwich manager was appointed interim manager of Leicester, and he will hold that position till the end of the 2022–2023 season.

Rodgers oversaw the Foxes’ miserable season-long effort, which resulted in a challenging fight against relegation. Meanwhile, after losing 17 of their last 28 games, they are now in the 18th position in the standings.

Following this, Ndidi outlined the new manager’s objectives, one of which is for the team to rebuild from scratch.

“It’s time to go back to basics and doing things simple,” he continued. “This is what the manager is trying to do and then we’re trying to give everything we have.” he told LCFC TV.

Guardiola’s men are as well fighting for the English Premier League title as they trail Arsenal with 6 points with a game yet to be played.

Speaking in advance of tomorrow’s game, the Nigerian defensive midfielder said that the team that is battling to stay in the league might give City a little surprise.

Ndidi added: “It’s going to be an exciting game because the confidence is coming back a bit. This is a good time to play them because they could be a little surprised and that gives us confidence for the next one.”

The East Midlands will travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in an attempt to boost their shaky hopes of escaping the drop.
