UEFA’s accidental ‘reveal’ of Champions League finalists in gaffe proved to be wrong as Man City thrash Real Madrid

UEFA had an embarrassing moment ‘revealing’ the Champions League final opponents, especially as it proved to be wrong.
The governing body pushed a promoted tweet showing Real Madrid will be taking on Inter Milan, two hours before Los Blancos faced Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the semi-finals.
The tweet read: “The finalists are confirmed and the scene is set.
“Answer 5 questions correctly for the chance to head to Istanbul!”
The picture then showed Real and Inter’s club crests either side of the trophy.
But we now know it will be City who join the Serie A side in Istanbul as Pep Guardiola’s men inflicted a 4-0 humiliation on the record winners of the competition.
Bernardo Silva’s first-half double put City in charge before an Eder Militao own goal and Julian Alvarez’s late strike capped off a splendid night for the home side.
The win means City are a step closer to winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble, with the European final happening on Saturday June 10.
