Watch: Odion Ighalo ‘working towards’ becoming the finest striker in Saudi Pro League

With 18 goals, Odion Ighalo is presently seven goals ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League scoring standings

Al Hilal forward, Odion Ighalo, has declared his desire to be the best striker in the Saudi Pro League in light of his outstanding so far for his team.

The Nigerian star has been instrumental in his team’s success in the league this season, with 18 goals and two assists so far.

After scoring twice from the penalty spot in his side’s match against Al Nassr, the Nigerian established that he had set out to become the best striker in the league.

Ighalo scored twice for the Blue Waves—one in the 42nd minute and the other two minutes after the hour—to defeat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and claim all three points.

The Nigerian thus maintains the top place in the rankings for the Saudi Pro League goal scorers with 18 goals, two goals more than Talisca and seven goals more than Ronaldo.

Following this, the Nigerian showed his delight at winning the derby game in a post-game interview.

“I’m happy, the fans are happy, it’s a derby game, we know it’s going to be difficult,” he said.

He sets a goal for himself to be the top striker in the league this season based on his performance so far.

“Inshallah, hopefully, i am working towards that, but the most important thing [for Al Hilal] is to end the season well” he added.
