‘Welcome to the Curtis Jones era’

A quickfire double from Curtis Jones has put Liverpool in charge at Leicester, and fans can’t get enough of the midfielder’s stunning form.

Inside four first-half minutes Liverpool went 2-0 up at the King Power Stadium, both goals being scored by Jones.

The first saw him latch onto Mohamed Salah’s looping cross on the half-volley with his left foot on 33 minutes.

And just three minutes later Jones and Liverpool had their second as in one quick movement he controlled Salah’s pass before firing past Foxes goalkeeper Daniel Iversen.

It’s been a strange season for Jones, who’s yet to fully kick on from starring at Liverpool’s academy. However, his form of late suggests Jones is finally settling down in the first team.

And these Liverpool fans are very encouraged by what they’re seeing from the no.17, one even suggesting he’s better (albeit with a massive tongue in the cheek) than England and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, who the Reds are set to miss out on signing in the summer.

One fan tweeted: “Welcome to the Curtis Jones era.”

Accompanied with the Pep Guardiola ‘We cannot replace him’ viral video, another fan said: “Curtis Jones in the last few months has been unplayable.”

This fan added: “Fair f****** play, Curtis Jones has been phenomenal recently.”

While another said: “Curtis Jones is better than Dortmund’s 22 [Bellingham].”

And this fan said: “Curtis Jones’ resurgence since returning in the line-up has been instrumental. He’s showing his true potential we all knew he had.”

A superb free-kick by Trent Alexander-Arnold after the break sealed a 3-0 win for the Reds, who are now a point behind Newcastle and Manchester United, who are in third and fourth spots in the Premier League table.
