When is the last Soccer AM episode and what have they got planned for finale?

SoccerAM will hang up its boots for the final time after nearly 30 years on the air later this month.

The iconic weekend football show has just a few episodes remaining before wrapping up for good at the end of the current season.

SoccerAM has been running since 1995 but Sky Sports made the decision to axe the topical comedy sports show in March.

It was originally, and most notably, hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain before talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein and Max Rushden were both given a stint in the hot seat.

But it’ll be John Fendley and former Premier League star Jimmy Bullard who will be guiding fans through the final ever episode.

When is the last SoccerAM episode?

SoccerAM’s final episode will be broadcast on Saturday, May 27.

It is being screened the day before the last gameweek of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

The programme will be broadcast on Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League and Football with coverage starting at 10:30am.

Sky Sports customers can live stream this via the app using their mobile, tablet or computer devices.

If not, you can purchase a Sky Sports Day Pass from NowTV for £11.98.

What have they got planned for final SoccerAM?

Show bosses have kept plans for the last episode firmly under wraps so it is yet to be seen which celebrity guest stars will appear.

But SoccerAM do confirm on their social media pages the day before the programme airs what fans can expect.

It’s usual Saturday 10:30am slot will then be taken over by Sky Sports’ Saturday Social in the hopes of attracting younger viewers.

What has been said?

“I liked it when Tim Lovejoy was on. I thought it was knockabout silly stuff but I thought it had some energy about it,” Simon Jordan told talkSPORT.

“The moment they turned the dial and brought that old lightweight Max Rushden, that was the beginning of the end,” he joked.

“Max got hold of the microphone and turned it into whatever it was – an opportunity for everyone to feel sorry for everyone else.

“The bottom line is everything runs its course doesn’t it? And I do think John Fendley’s a great presenter. I think he’s very funny, I’ve always liked him.

“If we go back in time and you think of Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain and look at all the different people finding their feet, I thought it was a good show.”
