Why is Bukayo Saka nicknamed ‘Starboy’? Arsenal fans put moniker on standout forward destined to reach the top

Bukayo Saka is one of the most exciting young talents in world football and has starred in the Premier League this season.
Saka has been a leading figure in Arsenal’s Premier League title bid, recording the best stats of his career so far in the top flight.
He quickly became a fan favourite for the Gunners after rising up from the academy and the supporters now describe the England international as their ‘Starboy’.
Why is Saka nicknamed ‘Starboy’?
The reason Saka has been nicknamed ‘Starboy’ is quite self-explanatory…
The Arsenal fans call their forward the name as they know that he is destined to become one of the stars of world football.
The 21-year-old’s career seems as if it will only get better and better as he improves each season, with his stats this campaign being his best so far.
Saka has netted 12 goals and assisted 10 in the Premier League, becoming the youngest Arsenal player to reach double figures in both stats.
He also joined many Gunners legends by achieving the feat as he put himself alongside Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas.
Saka’s role in Mikel Arteta’s side has been crucial to their push for their first top-flight title since 2004 this campaign.
He has played in all 31 of the Gunners’ Premier League fixtures and for his contribution, he won Men’s Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards in March.
Saka has been at Arsenal since 2008 and has worked his way up the ranks to become a key player under Arteta.
The winger has now made 128 appearances in total, scoring 29 while also collecting 26 England caps and eight goals for his country.
And the good news for Arsenal fans is that the forward is reportedly in talks for a new contract at the club to extend his lifelong stay in North London.
So the Gunners will be delighted to see that their ‘Starboy’ will likely be around for years to come.
