Usman Abd’Allah has been offered the Managerial position at Wikki Tourist in what brila.net sources believe to be the biggest deal in the NPFL era.
Abd’Allah is currently in Bauchi where he signed a five-month deal and has the task to “stabilize” the team.
“The whole thing is to come and redeem the club. I’ll got a five-month period to stabilize the team in the league,” Abd’Allah told brila.net.
“Although I was initially hoping to leave and be with the family but some deals are to good to walk away from.
“I also wanted to in the North and close to my family. Only two days of leaving Enyimba I was getting calls for a new offer and besides the financial aspect, the task of rebuilding a team in five months is challenging.”
“I don’t know the depth of the team yet, but I have also observed them from close quarters in the game against Sunshine Stars and I will also see the game against Adamawa United.
“The window is open and we would consider bringing in players to bolster the squad.”
Abd’Allah left his position as technical Adviser with Enyimba after almost two seasons. He joined midway through the 2017-18 season and won the league with the club last term.
Describing the time at the Aba based side, the Coach said it was a great learning curve.
“I am an ex Coach of Enyimba, the club of course has a huge reputation, I came with a new Idea and we had some success.
“I can’t dwell on the negatives during the period I was there, We had some good times.
“I want to thank the club and particularly the chairman. We had a good relationship and we also fought some times; situations that have also made me a better Manager.
He admits working to turn the fortunes of Wikki Tourists, the team currently 14th in the log, will be daunting.
“With Wikki Tourists, there’s a lot of work to do and we want to try and stabilize the team, until we do that we can’t decide on any other objective.”
